Is there anyone on the team that trains with a power meter? If so, what type of power meter do you have? Do you like it? What do you like about it? What don't you like about it? I am trying to gather information about the benefits of powermeters and what the best type is. Any information people could provide me with would be apprecaited.

the best value these days, imo, is a used powertap, esp. since they've gone wireless--you can pick up an older wired version for well under retail. i see them for sale on txbra fairly often. we have over 20,000 miles on a wired ptap that ray bought used. the cones have been replaced twice, but the hub functions just fine. it's definitely heavier than our wireless ptap SL, but that's due more to the wheel build. aside from price & reliability, the biggest advantage is being able to use it on multiple bikes.
the only thing that irritates me is the computer display: while it records HR, you can't display it and watts at the same time. you can switch back & forth, but it's sort of a pain during intensity workouts. of course, in theory, you're only using one at a time, so not a big deal.
here's a handy tip: you can usually get a campy ptap wheel cheaper than a shimano, but the kit to convert is (or was) only about $40.

Bc less people ride campy. So less demand for the ptap wheels.

i have a ptap. Pro computer with SL hub. wired
i like how it tells me how weak i am. it's a pretty good motivator.
got it off ebay for the full wheel, mounts, and computer with HR strap last october.
the ones with ant+ are sweeter it can hook up to the garmin 705 which has a better display.
for best price value i'd still get a ptap. although the wheel can be quiet heavy. i think the wheel total is about 2lbs. nothing like training with an anchor though
