I have two race events on my list this spring.  The first is a half-ironman distance triathlon in Galveston on April 2.  More info on this can be found at

http://www.tritexas.com/gulfman/

Unfortunately it is on a Road Race weekend.  I will be doing the riding on a three person team.  We are looking for an easy victory unless any of you guys are interested in forming a team, or you can do the whole thing individually.

The second event is the Bayou Bash Relay held in Sugar Land on April 29.  It is a running event, where a team consists of 4 members and each member runs 2.5 miles.  For more info check out

http://www.alrcusa.org/bayoubash/2006BayouBashRelay.htm

or you can access it through

http://www.harra.org/

My friend asked me to join him, and we're still looking for two more strong runners.  If anyone's interested just hollaback.

As for organizing our own triathlon...  I had a fun time in my latest triathlon, last weekend while I was in Chicago.  All of it was held indoors.  Waves, of 7 people each, started every 25 minutes at the lane pool.  Instead of set distances for each leg, which is normal for outdoor events, the race is timed so that the winner is determined by compiling the total distances covered at each of the legs 10 min. swim, 20 min. bike, and 15 min. run.  The race is easy to monitor, because the racers aren't going anywhere.  The only problem is where/how to reserve lanes in the pool, stationary bikes, and treadmills.

When I get my tired ass out of bed early enough!  I don't want to fall back on school this semester so I'm spending more time on the books than the training. Tongue

I can relate to your predicament...it takes me forever to swim.  I'm sure if word gets out we can find two more people interested in swimming 1.2 miles and then someone else to bike or run.

I was gonna offer .... well actually I suck at all three events, some more than others. But it's during MSU weekend anyways, so I have to kick their asses first.

Hey, hey now don't throw down on a guy who was giving a little extra to try to benefit his team.  And besides, I will take your @$$ out whether you are behind me or on either side as well.
