Welcome to the team. A good place to cycle and run is Memorial Park. It's maybe 15-20minutes from campus. There is a 1.1mile loop basically for cyclist after 3pm (you will occasionally see skaters). There is also running trail, and I believe it's 3 miles long. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Search "memorial park houston" on google and you will find where it is. Best directions from campus are 45N exit Memorial (stay on right (go up instead of down) then be in left lane). Turn left at traffic light and get on to Memorial Dr (you will have to merge on left). Stay in left lane, and you will eventually get to the park and find parking near the left by the picnic loop. Good luck and hope to meet you soon.

I hate running, I don't understand why people do that.

Just do what Athar told you to do. We have team rides twice a week. Welcome to join and post when ever you go.

Hi!  What are you a grad student in?  I am glad you found the forums.  Memorial Park is really the best place to cycle in the city.  Are you living near campus?

Haha!  Putting it nicely, I'm the "crazyrunnerboy" on the (alumni) club.

As far as running in Houston goes, it kinda depends on where you live...
I live inside the loop so I frequently run the Hike and Bike Trails along White Oak, Buffalo and Brays Bayous and Rice University and Memorial Park have nice crushed gravel surfaces for their ~3 mile loops.

what did you do today?

Where did you go to for undergrad?

We like to ride at the park (memorial park picnic loop) a lot!

Thanks!! I can't wait to meet y'all! I went to the United States Naval Academy for Undergrad and am in the law school here at U of H. Where do I send the new member forms? Oh, and I actually live at the Calhoun lofts on campus. I graduated 3 years ago from undergrad so I figured that was the easiest way to get back into school. Are y'all cycling tonight at the memorial park?
