One of our team members, Cody, and his Fraternity are putting on a Charity Bike Ride this upcoming Saturday. If any of you are looking for a Saturday ride this would be a great way to support a fellow team member.  Here is the information he sent me.

It will be this Saturday. If anyone is interested in participating they can sign up on our website www.raceassist.com/fiji.aspx Or they can call me with any questions at (Seven1Three)Eight9four-7004. Looking forward to seeing all the fellow team out there. Thanks for your support and help.

Hi, my name is Cody Risner and I am with Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) Fraternity at the University of Houston. We are having our 1st Annual Charity Bike Ride this Saturday November 14th benefiting the Holden Gothia Fund as well as the Spina Bifida Research Fund. The ride will start in the parking lot of Sun & Ski at Katy Mills Mall. I was contacting you to invite you and your fellow bicycle team/club riders to participate in this event. I have attached the event flyer and press release which has a bit more information on our ride and charities in which we will be supporting; as well as the website in which you or your friends can pre-register for the ride www.raceassist.com/fiji.aspx. I would greatly appreciate it if you were to support us in our cause, and please feel free to forward this message to whomever you feel would be interested in attending too. If you have any questions feel free to contact me on my cell at (713)894-7004 or email me back at FijiBiker@live.com.

We are all looking forward to seeing you out there Saturday morning. Thanks for your support!

Sincerely, Cody Risner

Phi Gamma Delta has been informed that there is another large bike ride (Independence Ride) being held in Wallis, Texas on the same date as our bike ride which is Saturday, November 14th, 2009.  The Independence Ride benefits disabled veterans and salutes those who have served in the military. With the tragic incident that occurred at Fort Hood last week, we have been cordially asked by the ride directors of the Independence Ride if it would be possible to change the date of our ride. Therefore please be advised we have gladly changed the bike ride date from this Saturday November 14th to December 12th.  We will still be there to pre-register riders this Saturday at Sun and Ski Sports at Katy Mills Mall along with giving a discount for the sudden inconvenience, your shirt, and ride number. The Fraternity apologizes for the inconvenience but we felt with the recent events that have occurred at Fort Hood, the Independence Ride held a special place amongst us. So we encourage you to sign up for the Independence Ride this weekend in Wallis instead. Thanks you and if you have any questions please let me know.
