Upper body training
«

Over the past year I've lost 20-25lbs of fat thanks to cycling. I still believe I have more fat to lose because my BMI is 24, I weigh 155lbs and am 5'7".
I also want to build my core, upper back, and lower back strength to help me last through the cycling season. Right now my strength workouts consist of: Reverse crunches, planks, supermans, and weighted side crunches for my core. Swiss raises for my lower back. Push ups on a stability ball for my upper back as well as regular push ups for my chest.
I'm wondering if anyone could share some different workouts. I'd like to be able to do more for my upper body. Thanks

As you read and progress more you will see that cyclist don't do much upper body work.
The most upper body work that they do (IF THEY DO) is on the off season to strengthen the upper body muscles for impact. In other words, they do upper body so they won't break apart when they fall of their bike.
The only people that do serious upper body are sprinters and most of the time they are trackies only.
Core is very important for stability and power especially in long races. I do legs three times a week and some upper body twice a week.
You are welcome to join me if you wish on of these days.

I will be tomorrow at 10 but I can be a bit flexible with the timing.
Let me know if it works for you.
