I'm allergic to swimming...

Folks...it's time to drain the wallets a little more for some of us.

It's time to do a team bike order from Specialized!  For those of you who have been saving your pennies and wanting a bike, the time is now (and now only).

In order to be eligible to purchase a bike, you must have raced for UH Cougar Cycling in a collegiate race and not just a club member.

For those of you who are members, but nor racers of CC, you can still receive a bike discount. Simply go to Sugar Cycles and pick out the bike of your choice.  That discount also varies and is done as a courtesy by them to us.  It's not as big of a discount as our Specialized Sponsorship discount, but still a great chunk off the bike and is not bound by the level requirements as our Specialized program (I purchased mine this way two years ago after missing the order).  BUT you get your bike immediately on the spot...those placing an order will have to wait for freight...so at least instant gratification takes place. Smiley

The bike program and discount is available on most bikes Expert level and above.  The discount varies, so here are the policies to follow in order to receive a quote and a bike:

  • Go to Sugar Cycles, our sponsor shop who will be ordering/receiving/assembling and fitting us on our bikes, identify yourself as a Cougar and pick out the bike of your choice and choose the size that you will be comfortable in.  If in doubt, do not be afraid to ask for help.  The guys there are great and more than willing to help us out
  • Once you select the bike you want, send me an e-mail at fframos@uh.edu with the subject: Specialized Bike Order Spring 2010 and inform me of the model, level, color and size (and as much detail as you wish really...but promises cannot be made).
  • In about 24-48 hours, you will receive an e-mail back with a quote of the estimated cost of the bike including taxes, shipping&handling, etc.
  • Once you review the quote, e-mail back with a confirmation that you wish to purchase the bike and this will be the official document placing your order] and of course, be ready to fund your order upon request after this takes place.

Once I receive all the order confirmations from people and money, the order will be placed immediately with Specialized and Sugar Cycles.  Upon payment and order confirmation from both of them, it should take about two weeks to receive all the bikes at the shop.  From there, you will schedule your fitting with them to take your bike and be happy on the road. Smiley

Questions, comments?  Let them show!

Soft deadline for this will be mid-April.  If we get the order in sooner, perhaps we can have people on bikes prior to Conference Championships in April and MS time...so...if you're ready....GO!

Hey nando, I have a question. Where you able to find record of my track races last semester and if they do actually qualify me for a bike order? I'm still kinda' lost on this. Thanks.

also, fyi, I paid dues to Louis D. on campus instead, he was near my building Tuesday.

I'll be out at the loop after class today, at around 7:30ish.  be there!

I have a record of your track races. Don't worry about it.

Yo...yup! And depending on how I'm feeling, I may not be out tonight unfortunately.  Plus need to prepare for a couple of interviews as well. Smiley
