I know this might be too early but, does the team want to host a MTB race for the fall season?

Last year I co-hosted with Bikelane the Huntsville Classic which went well given the support I received from the team...

Anyhow, would y'all like to throw out some ideas for a race location that we can do 3 events; XC, TT, and ST.

And remember, this will only work if we have a good turnout of volunteers.

Hosting a race is a great way to boost the clubs activity and it helps put money in the teams account.

Now is the time to get involved with the team. If some of y'all don't like the way the team has been going, step up!

Warda?

It is definitely less work if you can piggy back with a tmbra race.  Huntsville is Oct 17.

I'll help out! I'm also an officer of a club, so I can submit this event for volunteers.

I won't be able to do Oct. 17 though. Doing the half ironman in Austin.

I'll help out too.

Never been to a MTB race before so this'll be pretty awesome!

I support this idea. Warda was so much fun and easy (from my volunteer opinion). Do we have to come up with dates for this? or are we following last year's dates?

I am not sure the MTB race schedule for the fall season, noting has been posted that I know of.

What race is held at Warda?
If we do Huntsville we have the XC already set up. all we would need to think and map out 2 other events.

Cohosting is lame and the easy way out.  Collegiate only events are the ones that can be really fun.

I am very new to this, yet I could help with the mapping.

There is not generally a TMBRA race at Warda in the Fall you would have to go it alone.  But Warda is pretty easy in terms of marking the trails, there are really not that many places to go.  Main trail, cut out the Mule Hill if you want.  Definitely cut out the field to no where over by the oil rig.

TMBRA schedule is posted.  Camp Eagle is Sep 5, someone usually cohosts that.  Power Pedal is Oct 3 at Lake Bryan so I assume A&M will cohost.

You know what is a fun, fun course that they just put on the TMBRA circuit, Pace Bend on Lake Travis.  That would be a logical choice for UT but might be one to look into.  Warda would just be a little easier cause they can basically close the place down and cater to the collegiate weekend events.

We have always had a good relationship out there with Warda.  I have also just about single handedly run a race out there before.  It's easy to mark off, and a fun course.  My crit course is also unlike any other you will find  Smiley
