Alright guys and gals!
We are hosting a MTB race this semester and you are welcome to help and race.

The race is 9/11-9/12 at Double Lake in Coldspring, TX
The course is a flat and fast single-track which would be good for all skill levels. We encourage new members to race, as this would be a fun course to get your feet wet into the sport of MTBing.

Flyer  http://www.usacycling.org/events/getflyer.php?permit=2010-2665

On a side note: I know this is the same weekend of Chappell Hill, but I would like to say that the team has (for returning members) paid for your race fees and hotel lodging and it would be expected for you to give back to the team. Smiley

Meredith and I will be there to volunteer.  Let me re-emphasize what Trey is saying about volunteering.  The team doesn't ask much from you to be a member and get a lot of racing and traveling paid for, so please be at this event if possible.  This event is not just the only fundraiser that the team is asked to participate in, but it is also a showing of our University.  Trey has put in a lot of effort to get this race going, and the team really needs all the help possible to make this go off smoothly.   Hope to see y'all there, it is going to be fun.

Angela, you are more than welcome to help with the awards. Not sure when I will have all the supplies but sometime this weekend or Monday, since its a banking holiday and I will be off work. Smiley

Sibu, we will be going up there on Firday and camping for the weekend. Come when you can. We will need bodies the day of the event on Sat and Sun.

I am going to see what I can do about making this event.  I havent ridden my MTB since April when I broke my hand.

Do I have to have my USAC license for this event?

You can get a one day racing license if you just want to try it out.  The collegiate racing license are only $30 for the year. If you aren't up to racing, we could definitely use your help hosting the race!

Blake,

I can only come on Saturday, have something on Sunday, would that help you with Volunteers?  I know the course and race, so I can do whatever and get a little ride in while at it.

Let me know.

Yay Coby!  We could definitely use some help on Saturday.  We will need to set up the xc course on Saturday, so anyone that knows the course well could be greatly put to use.  You have tons of race hosting experience too, so you would always be a big help.

Hey guys please email me at loudel78@yahoo.com  if you plan on attending this race.  Need your answer by the end of the week, and turn your waivers in to Sports Clubs too by this time.  If you do not have a waiver, you need to go to the Sports Clubs office and do so.

If you want to attend the race several things need to be done before the day of the event.

1.) Email me with you your race intentions.  loudel78@yahoo.com

2.) Fill out all forms and waivers and turn them into Sports Clubs office at the recreation center.  Updated forms and waivers are available at      the Sports Club's office.  There will be two forms: member waiver and member information.  When you have completed this please              please inform me.

3.) Paid your $25/semester dues to the team president Kris, or me.

4.) Purchased a USA Cycling Collegiate license.  It's $30 for the annual or $10 for a one day at the event.
     Purchase link:  http://www.usacycling.org/news/user/story.php?id=579

If you are in doubt as to whether you have completed either of these steps feel free to send me and EMAIL at loudel78@yahoo.com and I will let you know what my records say.
