Hello, name is Chris. I live right off campus by Texas Southern and I am almost always down to ride. call anytime 713/594/3848 I'm also going to start carpooling to Alkek a couple times a month if anybody is interested. They are open Tue-Thurs 6-9pm and Sat 10am -12pm

The Alkek is near by where I stay. I have wanted to make the trip but Ive been too lazy.
From what I hear The A&M guys are there racing on Fridays.

weather permitting ill be ready for next tuesday. ill have a trooper capable of fitting 5 people. + 1-2 in the back if nobody is bringing a bike. The first 5 times you go the $10? fee is waived and equipment rental is free. They have rental track bike and i think even some helmets. Helmets are required. Let me know if you plan on going.
and if your talking about the bayou trail that goes up behind UH. Im down for riding that if your in the area.

The velodrome tonight was rad times. Great training. It's like riding uphill the whole time. Folks should definitely come out for these when they happen. I talked to the guy who was running it tonight and he said that A&M and UT are out there strong pretty often. Let's make something happen!  |

Glad you are enjoying Alkek. Hopefully I will be back out there training when they reopen in the spring. Have you met Carl Jones yet? He was one of the founders oh the UH cycling team and is a GREAT coach.

I was going to go yesterday but got lazy..
how does it work as for training? Its a small track and it seems as if only one person can be doing something at once.

It is actually one of the largest distances of tracks. You just have to be aware of what is going on around you and follow the rules for where to be when you are doing different types of workouts.

I have done a race on that track with almost 30 people. You just have to know where you are supposed to be. If you have any question, just ask.
