What do you think about starting a Cougar Cycling alumni team? Thoughts? Comments?
Johnny/Blake's idea: member dues, TriVantage and Bike Barn Discounts, team functions...yadayadayada...

Would be pretty cool. I already know someone who'd love to join. He came to US like 2 months ago from Italy. Pretty smart guy, 29 but already a doctor. Anyways, cool idea.

Well he attended classes for a very brief period of training and right now he's actually working at UH.

Is there a Cougar Team? If so what do you do to join? Where do ya train? Is the team involved in events all year?

Leo, are you asking about the alumni team, or the real University team?  If you are asking about the UH team then yes, we ride and race all through both semesters.  Check out the old site for some more info before this one gets running to the max ( www.uh.edu/cougarcycling ) The alumni team will more than likely be started in early 2006, but they are still encouraged to come out and ride with us, and race in any uscf races that we do.

I believe that Alumni are the strength of the University and encouraging their involvement only strengthens our standing. If I'm an alum and a current student do I have to pay two dues?

There isn't a current due for the team, never has been.  As for the Alumni team, there would be one, that money would go straight to the student team.  We have to bring in money from some source, and this would be it.

Yeah, and i think they'd love it if they knew the money was coming to us. I mean once I graduate if i'm still in houston i'd love to join the Alumni team and i'd be glad to pay dues if I knew my school's team is getting it.
