I'm finally going to start swimming at the rec.  What number of laps would be equivalent (distance wise) to something I would see in a triathlon?

Depends on your distance of tri. As little as 16 lengths up to 75ish. Is length is 25yards. So convert it from some of the tri's that you want to do. Also next semester we will start back up swim practice in the morning. Some might say I didn't know that we stopped but it was an involuntary thing I just don't have the time right now.
