Now that the MS-150 and Easter Hill Country Tour are behind us and the road racing season is in high-gear, it's time to for a fun, very hilly ride out in Coldspring before the road race there next weekend.

We'll start at the high school on FM 105 near Pine Rd. Plan to meet and be ready to ride by about 8:00 a.m. We'll ride up to the race course for two 15½-mile loops of hilly roads. There will be a lot of activity with other tea...ms coming up to pre-ride the course. After the second lap we'll stop at the Exxon convenient store in Coldspring for a quick break, then do an out-and back to the dam on Lake Livingston for a total of 53 miles.

After the ride, for anyone who's hungry, be sure to stop for lunch at Crystal's Patio and Grille (bring cash, since they don't like to split checks). Be sure to sit out on the patio if the weather's nice.

Since it's a very hilly course, expect a pace that will very widely. After the second lap we'll regroup in Coldspring before the ride out to the dam. The out-and-back to the dam is still very hilly, but not as steep as the east side of the race loop. Maps will be provided at the ride start. If you are uncertain whether you can keep up with the group, please take a map or see Chris Lockwood before the ride so you won't get dropped.

For more information about the ride, course maps and files for your Garmin, please visit the Coldspring Recon Ride page at http://www.saturdayride.com/

Heres an extended version of the route.
There are about 3 loops that can be taken out to shorten the ride aswell.
