Hello everbody and welcome back to the forum.

I thought I'd let everyone know the paperwork has been started for this year's Cougar Cyclocross, and things seem to be going pretty smooth (at least much better than last year).  The magic words seem to be "Third Annual."

This year I'm thinking about changing the course slightly and running the races backwards.  Here is the map for anyone who wants to practice, and if you have any suggestions, please speak up.

Also, here is the event information page

Thanks,
Troy D.

What were some of the complaints from riders last year?  Could they be easily addressed?

Where's the start/finish btw?

The biggest problem was the start/finish straight (which is now just across from parking lot 6B), which was a bit narrow and the dismounts came too soon after the start.  This way, the mandatory dismounts are going to be closer to the end of the lap.

I have no idea about numbers in town.  I assume there is somebody that does it, but if you order through Rainbow Racing online today you should be able to get them before Saturday.

Also, the paperwork for teh cross race is now in the hands of the Dean, and the waiting begins....

Troy,

I would like to help out by setting up the course and course marshalling.  For this coming race, I would like to be a course marshall for the sand pit area because there is a lot of action going on in the sand pit.

Thanks Joel ^^^

Grounds just approved the course today.  One down, three to go and it's only November.  I'm getting ahead of myself. Smiley

Call Andy Stewart at 281 242 7700, he owns Finish Line Sports in Sugar Land and will see you left over race numbers cheap... (tell him Sam said to call)  Blake has been there before I think.

Thanks Vanessa, I'll have to check that out.

I was thinking about holding a couple 'cross clinics, but it looks like those will have to wait until just before the event.  I'm headed up to Dallas for some training with my other team, tomorrow.  However, considering Mitch placed first and second this past weekend in the Mens B race (and also won at Wurstcross), I think he would be more than qualified to impart some knowledge.  Waddaya say Mitch?

In other news I should get the last approvals that I need today from housing and UHPD.  Wish me luck!

On TXBRA, it says collegiate races start at 10am.

But on the flyer document, it says it starts at 9:30am.

Which is correct?

Thanks for pointing that out.  The flyer was correct, and I've fixed the event page.  I moved everything back a little to make sure we didn't conflict with an event happening at the Religion Center.
