Not to put Jeff on the spot, but Jeff has mentioned that he would be willing to hold a clinic. He is a good teacher. So Jeff is the person to talk to about moutain biking skills.

Okay, we have a schedule now for MTB season!

Jeff - are you still planning on holding a clinic to teach people about mountain biking?  Anyone, I would like to try to learn, I may not race this season (I would like to, but if I think I will kill myself, I won't), but I would like to start working on my skill set b/c it doesn't look like my dissertation will be done before next MTB season.

If anyone is interested, I ride at Jack Brooks County Park about twice a week.  If you live in S. Houston or are willing to make the trip let me know.  All skill levels are welcome, just be aware that the terrain is pretty technical so you may walk a lot the first time.  I also try to make it out to Rocky Hill about once a week, usually Monday mornings at 5:30am, yes Jeff I am an early rider, but I am not a morning person...hmmm.  With the fuel prices though my trips are starting to dwindle to once every two weeks.

This weekend doesn't work so well for me.  I will be trying to get 250miles in on my road bike.

At some point could someone show me how to properly adjust my derailleurs or does anyone know of a site that talks about it?  I've used the directions that came with them, but they still aren't right and I figure there are tricks to get it right.

whats wrong with it?

if the shifting is not accurate enough that might be because of several of things:
The housings of the cables are clogged
The cable tension is not right.
Or you might have bent the henger at the last bad whip out you head.

Anyway I will take a look at it next time that you get down here if you want.
